Executive Committee under the Governing Body of NESTS
Executive Committee shall consist of following members:
- Commissioner, National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) -Chairperson
- Joint Secretary (EMRS), Ministry of Tribal Affairs - Member
- Financial Adviser, Ministry of Tribal affairs - Member
- Commissioner Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) - Member
- Director/ Representative, Sports Authority of India - Member
- One Principal Secretary / Secretary from Tribal Welfare, State/ UT Government- Member
- Director, EMRS, Ministry of Tribal Affairs - Member
- Additional Commissioner, National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS)- Member & Convener
- Other Members can be co-opted with approval of Chairperson.
- Executive Committee shall meet at least once in each quarter.
- Special meetings may, however, be convened by the Chairman, whenever necessary.

- Presence of Chairperson and three members will constitute quorum.
Functions of Executive Committee:
- To supervise construction and establishment of EMRS, EMDBS, COE.
- To facilitate State/UT EMRS Societies to maintain and manage schools, hostels and other related activities;
- Commissioning periodic external evaluation of EMRS & EMDBS by competent organization with a view to determine how far the objectives are being realized and to issue suitable directions.
- Reviewing functioning of the EMRS Schools as per best academic standards.
- Reviewing and monitoring transparent selection processes of teachers and students.
- Reviewing and monitoring provision/ availability of adequate infrastructure and maintenance thereof in schools in association with State/ UT Government/EMRS Societies.
- Monitoring recruitment and service conditions as per Recruitment Rules notified by the State/ UT EMRS Societies and reviewing availability of teachers in EMRSs and suggest suitable measures to meet the challenge.
- Review optimal utilization of the capacity of the Schools.
- Review construction of new buildings as well as renovation/ upgradation of existing buildings handed over to State /State EMRS societies as per guidelines of Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
- Review of MoUs, Agreements and other arrangements of similar nature for furtherance of the aim and objects of the Society/ NESTS.
- To do all such things as may be considered necessary, incidental or conducive to the attainment of all or any of the aims and objects of the Society/ NESTSs.
